Hair Care
Washing
Shampoo & Condition extensions at least every 2-3 weeks. It is best to squeeze out excess water after washing, pat dry with a microfiber towel or t-shirt, and allow hair to air dry. Avoid harmful products that contain sulfate, alcohol, or silicone. Those products WILL affect the natural state of your extensions. We recommend using water based products if you would like to add moisture to your hair. It is crucial to use quality products to ensure hair stays healthy and moisturized.

Lightening/ Bleaching/ Coloring
Our extensions lighten very well however, we recommend lightening your extensions safely by doing more than one session of lightening to ensure you safely lift your extensions without compromising the integrity of the hair and to avoid breakage or the extensions becoming dry. After lightening be sure to keep the extensions super moisturized by deep conditioning and locking the moisture in with a serum after air drying. When coloring your extensions be sure to use quality or salon grade brands. We recommend reaching out to a cosmetologist to perform lightening and hair coloring.
Heat Usage
Use a heat protector before applying heat and follow up with a hair serum after styling. Use hot tools on a low setting. Minimize frequent use of hot tools. We recommend using the Revlon Hair Dry Blow Brush for upkeep on our straight hair(can be found on Amazon).
Night Care
Protect your extensions at night with a satin or silk scarf and bonnet and/or a pillow case to reduce breakage and friction and minimize tangling.
Managing Raw Hair
Be sure to brush your extensions throughout the day to minimize tangling. Like your natural hair, hair extensions can go through shedding. Shedding happens when strands of the hair are pulled out of the weft or when they move away from the machine wefting or tied installation method. Shedding is typical for all extensions made from human hair.
However, there are definitely ways to minimize this occurrence and maintain the quality of your extensions.
You might be able to strengthen the wefts and reduce shedding by sealing your wefts. Special weft sealing glues can be used for this purpose to add reinforcement along with implementing all of the tips above to help mitigate shedding and preserve the quality and lifespan of your extensions.
